Maybe the main website has too much information?

I have placed a lot of information on the main website, maybe too much? As I am showing what is possible to other Webmasters, Design Companies and Marketing Agencies. So I have created a single page website which is targeting normal business owners with a website at Webmaster Services Hope this helps to promote the benefits of a Webmaster to people that need solutions?

New Group on LinkedIn

There are many forms of marketing, and using LinkedIn is considered very beneficial. Owning a Group provides for many opportunities, I have created one called the Global Chamber of Commerce.

The reason, there are very few Chamber of Commerce with a LinkedIn Group for their members, and those that do have a Group, insist you are already a member of their Chamber. It's that time of year again

Hopefully you have all had a great Christmas and looking forward to the New Year? Just a quick tip, it's time to plan to change all your copyright dates to 2012 on 1st January or as soon as possible after that date. Good to make other changes, check spelling and create new sitemaps.

Why? Well you know when you visit a website you see many things in the first few seconds, You do notice if the site still shows the copyright year as 2009 etc, this tells you the site is not maintained properly, and may not have the latest information you are looking for. Many often seeking another site.

I did a quick study just now and found more than 85% of websites are not using a Google type sitemap. You would think with all the effort and seo work done, the very least would be to keep the various sitemaps up to date. If you are not certain what I mean, you can read more at Website Sites which show examples and the reasons to use them.

When a keyword seems to have a reasonable number of links in a search results page, and that keyword meets my keyword requirement, Then I purchase the domain and have it hosted. You may think that a bit crazy, but owning a key, keyword that is searched for, can provide a number of good quality links.

I have created a folder for my son-in-law to test out his first website. One problem which came to light was the upper and lower case in file and image names. If you have a Linux server hosting package, many problems can be solved by using all lower case.

Time to change. When the website does not work as expected

The Drachsi website has been building information over the last few months for webmasters and website owners. The site promotes ideas and solutions for small company websites. Offering a website maintenance service is difficult, as many owners did not create their own site, and often do not know what should, or could be done.

One of our services is building website sitemaps, which seemed seemed like the ideal candidate for Google Adwords. A great deal of help and support was provided by Google and an ad was run for 2 weeks. The daily budget was always reached and the visitors tracked.

From the results it seemed most of the information was relevant, but few visitors actually asked for more information.

A new website for Drachsi has been decided, new layout, new information and easier to request more information. Maybe too much information? More info shortly.

Website Review problem from a major company

I tried to join internet.com today, at a major Forum. The error was the promised box with the security word was not visable, so did not matter if you tried 2 or 3 times, you could never register. There was the message, "Registration denied, this forum runs an active policy of not allowing spammers. Please contact us via the "Contact Us" page link if you believe this is in error"

In effect you could never register. Does your site work the way you planed? Have you lost customers because you did not have an independent website audit done within the last 12 months.

Not all free website reviews are free

I contacted a company, very professional, that offered a free website review. As I provide this type of service, I thought to check out their claims.

They said and did all the right things, except they would do nothing without a phone number for their "Consultant" to contact me. Just checking their site I noticed their Google sitemap had not been up dated since 2009. Not very professional if their own site has problems. Everybody knows that creating an Internet Brand takes time, effort and tenacity. I am kept very busy with maintaining other peoples Blogs, Websites and Internet Branding, so sometimes forget to do anything for myself.

If you are based in the UK, you should consider joining BTTradespace. My 3 sites are listed below.

Europe. A website for companies wishing to expand into Europe, using the Internet.

Squidoo. Early days, but will contain lots of information on building your free Squidoo Lenses

Drachsi. Links up with this and other Blogs, and has ideas and tips for Internet Branding for webmasters.

There are many resources which all help in creating a better Page Ranking, both webpage optimisation and inbound links are still the top methods needed to be list high in search results.

It has been some months since the first post, and a lot has happened. I am now a member of a number of business Forums, which led me to do a search for the name Drachsi. You would be interested to know that your online name is also indexed by Google. That's why I decided to create a website at http://www.drachsi.com to reserve the name.

You have to be careful what you post in Forums, Blogs, Facebook, etc as companies can research you, to build a profile of your hobbies, interests, especially if you are seeking employment.
